JOSE RIZAL
José Protasio Rizal Mercado y Alonso Realonda (June 19, 1861–December 30, 1896) was a Filipino nationalist, ophthalmologist, and polymath widely regarded as a national hero of the Philippines. Born in Calamba, Laguna, Rizal studied at the Ateneo Municipal de Manila and the University of Santo Tomas, then earned his medical and philosophy degrees in Madrid, Spain. Fluent in over 20 languages, he was also a gifted essayist, poet, sculptor, and teacher.
